The Employment Guide Teams Up with Rock For Hunger to Help Fight Poverty and Homelessness at the Upcoming Fall Job Fair

The Orlando Employment Guide has just announced that along with the AARP and the Department of Labor, they will be teaming up with Rock For Hunger to help the Orlando community. Rock For Hunger is an Orlando based not-for-profit organization that has a focus to bring an end to the cycle of poverty in Central Florida and ultimately the world through action, awareness and music. They started as an offset of Volunteer UCF last fall and have taken off in gaining exposure throughout the Orlando community. Hosting weekly feedings at the Post Office on Magnolia Ave in Downtown Orlando as well as monthly concerts showcasing the best in local and regional acts, Rock For Hunger has become a community leader and is in the fast lane to making a difference in the lives of many Poverty stricken and homeless individuals.

The Employment Guide is proud to have Rock For Hunger attend our next Job Fair Extravaganza in the hopes to build awareness and collect donations of Peanut Butter and Jelly Jars to continue to grow their Monday night feedings.

At our past Diversity Career Fair and Education Expo on August 15th, all extra helping and lunch portions were donated to Rock For Hunger and used in their feedings as well as 2nd Harvest Food Bank’s 2nd Helpings.

We ask that any attending vendors, employers and job seekers with extra means, please bring a jar of peanut butter and jelly to the event and you will in turn receive 2 free tickets to Bonkers Comedy Club.

The Orlando Employment Guide is proud to not only serve the job seeking community but also be a supporting organization for our local community.

See everyone on October 4th at the East Campus of Valencia Community College. Happy hunting Orlando.
