Top 10 Places For Working Mothers to Work

Working Mother Magazine and WorkingMother.com have recently published their top 100 places for moms to call their ‘day home’ for 2007. I am going to focus on their top 10. Working mothers face challenges when looking to work for a company. There are time restrictions, like picking and dropping off children, mid-day doctor/dentist appointments and oh, calls to the principals office. This can make for a time consuming time-off request process for an office manager. Working mothers also face a greater work-life balance as their kids are of top priority to them. Not to say that us men don’t care about our kids, but the mother-child bond cannot be broken, even for a career. So before I get in trouble for male-female relationships, here are the Top 10 places for Moms to go to work according to Working Mother Magazine:

Working Mother Top Ten

- Baptist Health South Florida
- Booz Allen Hamilton
- Ernst & Young
- General Mills
- IBM
- KPMG
- The McGraw-Hill Companies
- PricewaterhouseCoopers
- UBS
- Wachovia

If you work for, have worked for or know anything about these companies, please comment to let other mothers know what’s really going on behind company doors. Also, if you have additions to the list that pertain to the local Orlando area, share with us, so that we can get these companies featured and moms aware!

Have a great afternoon Orlando and happy hunting!

Greg -

Thank you for the information. I am a single mother who is currently going back to school to get my degree. Any advice for a Full Time job that would allow me to get my foot in the door for a good career while I finish up school? I really have only been able to find part time work so far which has been difficult. Thanks for your help!
