Wiser Worker Blog + Updates

It's been a while since I have had the chance to write something on here, and today is a small exception. We have been extremely busy unrolling some great new programs and talking to the community about the state of the economy, hiring processes, graduation season, Gen-Y hype and the launch of Wiser Worker.

For the Wiser Worker project we are really looking to help all job seekers 40+ and employers not only look for jobs, but also to find, seek out and retrieve information on job hunting for this special demographic. As part of this effort, we have launched the Wiser Worker Blog. I am happy to be a part of this team and being able to give job advice to both the wiser workers and the wiser employers throughout the coming weeks and months as we roll into our Wiser Worker Job Fair series with the AARP. Last year the Orlando AARP and Employment Guide Job Fair attracted over 1,000 quality job seekers, both young and old.

Moving on to local news, as the summer beings to kick into full swing and the graduation parties end, its time to look for an opportunity that will get you into gear Orlando. The Employment Guide's Summer Diversity Job Fair will take place on Tuesday, July 29th 2008 at the Rosen Plaza Resort on International Drive. The event details are located on the Employment Guide Job Fair page. More details to come on the blog as the companies start to roll in.

On a fun note, we will have a mobile version of this site, as well as mobile job search and job fair information available for the greater Orlando area very soon. The site is currently being tested and I am very excited for the launch. Below is a screenshot of what it will look like on your phone:

That's all for today folks. If you are an employer interested in Older Workers, please visit Wiser Worker.com or email me for more information (greg.rollett@employmentguide.com).

Happy hunting Orlando!
