Where Are You Celebrating the 4th of July Orlando?

We are right smack in the middle of a short week, due to the 4th of July Holiday Weekend. Even with some cities cutting back, and the dry air causing concerns for large fireworks displays, the Central Florida community is still ready to celebrate in a big way!

Here is an unofficial list of fireworks displays and celebrations in some areas around Central Florida.

City of Orlando
When: Friday, July 4th from 4pm - 10pm
Where: Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando
What: Live entertainment begins at 4 p.m. and will include the K92FM "Colgate Country Showdown” at the Amphitheater and classic rock on the 96.5 WHTQ stage! The Orlando Concert Band performs in the Amphitheater at 8 p.m. Also, on site will be six of Central Florida’s top radio stations, the Orlando Magic and two huge bounce houses in the kids’ area and a state of the art, full-motion driving simulator allowing participants to experience the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

City of Lake Mary - Red, Rock and Blue
When: Thursday, July 3rd from 6:30pm - 10pm
Where: Central Park at City Hall
What: A live concert in the part featuring "The Audience." Also performing live will be "Pop Shop." Bring your picnic basket for a picnic in the park or food and beverages will be available from local vendors.

City of Kissimmee
When: Friday, July 4th from 5pm - 9:30pm
Where: Kissimmee Lakefront Park
What: The evening will include a free concert featuring: Pocket Change with music from the 50s to the 80s, along with Glenn Cummings and the Session Hounds with a little country and country rock. Food will be sold by local restaurants and activities will include KUA’s Kids Land. Immediately following the concert, the festivities will conclude with an impressive fireworks display (co-sponsored by Kissimmee Utility Authority) that will light up the skies above Big Lake Toho.


City of Winter Park
When: Friday, July 4th from 9am - 1pm
Where: Park Avenue, City Hall and Surrounding Areas
What: Bicycle parade, wagon wides, clowns, inflatables, Bach Festival Brass Band, Bach Festival Chorus, Orlando Cloggers, Rockin’ Roadster Show and much more! Celebrate an ol' fashioned 4th of July with the City of Winter Park!

City of Sanford
When: Friday, July 4th from 3pm - 10:30pm
Where: Ft. Mellon Park along the Sanford RiverWalk
What: Live entertainment by award winning artists, "Orleans and Friends", great food and drinks, vendors and the All-American Kids Zone will be featured at this annual event. Just after sundown, the sky will come alive with a spectacular fireworks display over beautiful Lake Monroe, presented by Zambelli Internationale. A synchronized soundtrack will be simulcast on MAGIC 107.7fm.

City of Altamonte Springs - Red, Hot, and Boom

Red, Hot and Boom with Simple PlanWhen: Thursday, July 3rd from 4pm - 11pm
Where: Cranes Roost Park
What: Red Hot & Boom is the City of Altamonte Springs 13th Annual Independence Day Celebration. The event features live entertainment brought to you by XL106.7 Radio, children's activities, vendor booths, food, drink and a 25 minute fireworks display, synchronized with a mix of patriotic and today's musical hits. Headlining the event is Montreal based Simple Plan. Other artists schedule to perform include: Ryan Cabrera, Ace Young, Kate Voegele, Graham Colton, Kevin Michael, Mark & James and A-Lure.

City of Deltona - 4th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza
When: Friday, July 4th from 6pm - 10pm
Where: Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex
What: Kids’ activities, Live Band and a Fireworks Display. So pack up your family, bring a chair or blanket to relax on as you enjoy the park, and be dazzled by a sky full of color. Vendors from non-profit organizations will be on-site to sell food and/or souvenirs.


City of Melbourne
When: Friday, July 4th from 10am - 9:30pm
Where: Indian River Lagoon is the place to see the Fireworks (other 4th of July activities in Melbourne can be found here)
What: All day celebration including a parade, Jazz and Caribbean music, Space Coast Pops Orchestra and a fireworks celebration!

City of Lakeland - Red, White and Kaboom
When: Thursday, July 3rd from 6pm - 9pm
Where: Lake Mirror Promenade
What: The evening’s entertainment will include the smooth sounds of renowned jazz guitarist Les Sabler and the band CitiHeat. The popular smooth jazz performer will play three sets of music ending at 9:00 p.m. to a breathtaking display of fireworks over Lake Mirror. Bob Donahay, Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation said, “With the sponsorship from Central Florida Eurocars, we have added to the fireworks this year so it should be one fantastic show.

Celebration
When: Friday, July 4th from 9am - 11pm
Where: Celebration Town Center
What: A parade, DJ, Michael Andrew and the Atomic Big Band, Swing Dancing, Fireworks and more!

Disney Parks

Fireworks at Disney | 4th of July in Orlando

Magic Kingdom - Traditionally, the 4th of July fireworks at the Magic Kingdom include an enhanced presentation featuring patriotic music themed to spectacular pyrotechnics that ring through the park. Fireworks begin at 9pm.

Downtown Disney - Firework spectacular begins at 10:30pm.

Epcot Center - The America Pavilion will have extra performances of the "Voices of Liberty" choral group and visits by "Historic Figures" talking about their era. Fireworks finale begins at 10pm.

Disney's Hollywood Studios - Fireworks being at 9pm.

Universal Orlando Resorts - To celebrate Independence Day, Universal Orlando Resort will host an extraordinary collaboration of firework mastery by combining displays from three locations into a single show that can be seen throughout the resort. The awe-inspiring fireworks will emanate from Universal Studios on one side, Islands of Adventure on the other side and Universal CityWalk in the center, filling the sky with stunning illuminations. The show will begin at approximately 9:50 p.m. with all three locations simultaneously setting off an astonishing array of fireworks choreographed to America's favorite music.

Sea World - This July 4 & 5, families can join SeaWorld Orlando and celebrate the red, white and blue with the exciting firework spectacular Let Freedom Ring. This impressive production features a giant projection screen illuminating some of America’s greatest historical moments set to stirring music and patriotic narration. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the 12-minute extravaganza twice nightly at 9:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.

Well, that about wraps up my round-up of the 4th of July festivities around the greater Orlando area. I can say that I am going to be making the rounds at Red, Hot and Boom, the City of Lake Mary and on the 4th enjoying time with my family at Lake Eola.

I'm looking forward to both July 3rd events. We can't decide between City of Lake Mary or Altamonte Springs...either way, it will be lots of fun!

This list is great!!! I'm still sort of new to the area and had heard of several different celebrations, wasn't sure which ones would be the best. Thanks again and have a great 4th!
